Romney Takes Two Point Lead in Nat’l Poll, Raises $12 Mil Plus Online, 48 Hrs Post Oct 3 Debate



"Mitt Romney's commanding performance in Wednesday night's first presidential debate has started to yield results.
The Republican candidate has raised $12million in online donations over the last couple of days, and has also received a two point boost in the respected Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.
The news comes as Barack Obama's lacklustre showing continues to be mocked by top comedians - even those who are strong supporters of the President....
...The poll shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%.
In addition, Mr Romney's campaign took in a donation haul of $12 million via his website in just 48 hours after the conclusion of the debate in Denver, according to the Wall Street Journal...."   

As reported for Saturday, October 06, 2012 by Rasmussen:
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided...."   

This sudden turn of events is a huge deal for presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, because it has been reported that up until now, the majority of Romney’s donations came from the wealthy.
Sixty percent of the online donors to the Romney campaign post the October 3 debates were first time donors who made small contributions.
In addition, the Romney campaign is now experiencing an increase in volunteers.
