Martin Luther King - I Have a Dream Speech, Wednesday, August 28, 1963

I have chosen to remember the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream Speech” in my own way.

The first video is historical footage of preparations, commentary, events days and moments leading up to the Civil Rights March on Washington, D.C. and Dr. King’s speech which is also on the video.

The second video is a 1965 interview of King on Meet the Press followed by a video that shows us a side of King that many have never witnessed before.

I will honor Dr. King by not be posting any footage of speeches made these past weeks or on this day by those who, in my opinion, have co-opted, stained, re-wrote and all but destroyed the legacy of Dr. King.

Moreover, I will honor Dr. King by not posting any speeches of his children and some of his family members who are complicit in the Progressive revisionist history of Dr. King.

In a post prepared later today, I will, however, do a post on the music that shape the Civil Rights movement.
