This afternoon on the Bill Cunningham Show, post a two week long dog and pony show, John Boehner conceded (as expected) under the guise that “We fought the good fight. We just didn’t win.” H/t Gateway Pundit.
You may recall a rumor surfaced two weeks ago about a House revolt which involved the Progressive Congressional establishment on the left and the right.
Twenty-four hours later, left wing Progressives took to the House floor and began frothing at the mouth but Boehner squashed the revolt as quickly as it begun.
As confirmed by Mother Jones, the left two weeks ago informed Boehner “Strike a Deal and Maybe We Can Help Protect Your Speakership.” Boehner’s response, “I’ll get back to you.”
KICKING THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD
The Senate is at this moment preparing to vote “on a recently struck bipartisan deal to end the partial government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling. The Senate proposal would fund the government through Jan. 15, and raise the debt cap through Feb. 7….”
According to Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, who is also up for re-election, “This has been a long, challenging few weeks…This is far less than many of us had hoped for, but it is far better than some had sought….”
In the meantime, the overwhelmingly divisive non-leader-in-chief will make an appearance this evening because as he usual, the despot has something to say.
Like the tyrannical ray of sunshine that he is, Barack Terrorista Hussein Obama will rub the Progressive establishment’s nose in his crotch (pardon the metaphor), demand that Boehner on his knees kiss Osama Obama’s ring attack any voices of common sense (we know who we are) and put for the illusion that he has accomplished something major. Buck Ofama and his dog and pony show (and that metaphor as well).
