Vets Remove Barriers National WWII Memorial 10132013
As reported earlier by CBS - DC, the Barricades came DOWN this morning at today’s Million Vet March on the DC World War II and Lincoln Memorials:
….Frustrated veterans and their families took down the barricades at the World War II memorial to protest the political stalemate between the Senate and the House of Representatives. Veterans then moved to the Lincoln Memorial, according to All-News 99.1 reporter Heather Curtis, where they were once again met by barricades.
Members of the Million Vet March on the Memorials are protesting the effects of the shutdown and looming budget crisis on current and former military personnel….CONTINUE READING

When she first got there she reported the entire Federal District looked like a ghost town, except for several hundred volunteers who where trying to cleaning up trash from Capitol and Monument area.. Later in the day she sent the video up above. The video shows what sure looks like excessive security at the Lincoln Memorial, which before the shut down required no security.. Also in the video, an encounter she had with some older Veterans, some in wheelchairs, one not to old or to shy to ask a young lady for a hug….
